If you own a cat, you know that cats are independent by nature, but that doesn't mean that they can take care on their own. It is imperative that you pay attention to your pets and take preventive measures. Here are five ways to keep your cat healthy and fine.

1. Groom your cat on a regular basis

Whether you furry little friend has short or long hair, it requires grooming. Grooming your cats will help get rid of dead hair so that your cat does not ingest its own hair. It will also help you notice physical changes in your cats. Irregularities like bumps or sore spots can easily be noticed if the feline friend is groomed properly.

2. Provide fresh water

It is not just humans that need fresh water, cats need freshwater too. If your cat does not seem to drink from a bowl provide a drinking fountain. And make sure that you regularly provide freshwater and not keep the same water without changing for days.

3. Keep your cats' teeth clean

Just like humans, cats also develop tartar on their teeth. The bacteria that gets collected on your cats' teeth can also enter its bloodstream. You may find it hard to clean your cats' teeth. You need to take your cat to the veterinarian at least every six months.

4. Neuter your cat

Neutering your cats means removing its sexual organs. There are many reproductive diseases that can affect your cat. Spaying your cat will help avoid the unnecessary uterine infections that can put your cats' health to danger.

5. Train your cat to use a scratching post

If you have cats at your house, you will definitely be worried about your furniture. Cats need to scratch on a regular basis so that they get rid of dead layers from their claws. You can provide your cat with a scratching post. That will benefit both of you.
