Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) has been set up by the Ministry of Railways with the basic purpose of hiving off the entire catering and tourism activity of the railways to the new corporation so as to professionalize and upgrade these services with public-private participation. A dynamic marketing strategy in association with public and private agencies, tour operators, transporters, hoteliers, and local tour promoters is on the agenda. The Indian Railways spans global volumes in the hospitality and catering sectors with services provided to 13 million passengers every day.

Types of Packages:

The IRCTC has domestic as well as international tour packages. Their domestic packages can be booked through Rail Tour Package, Holiday package, Hotel bookings, Bharat Darshan, Fairy Queen, and Buddhist Train. IRCTC also has pilgrimage tours and pan-India tours as well. Each tour is several days long. IRCTC provides some of the most affordable, all-inclusive tour packages in the country. Tea/breakfast, lunch, dinner or tiffins are often included.

Cancellation Policy:

For cancellation of your ticket, please log in to your account, select the Tour Confirmation Number of the ticket you wish to cancel and cancel your ticket from your booked history online. Cancellation of your ticket is possible only on the website www.irctctourism.com and is not possible on PRS Counters. If the user wishes to cancel his ticket, cancellation rules for Land (Holiday) and Rail Tour Packages are as follows:

Facilities:

  • Tour Manager is the source of information. Please follow the guidelines of the Tour Manager at all times.
  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner will be available for tourists.
  • Passengers will get a full briefing about the tour from IRCTC before/after the booking to avoid any confusion.
  • In case certain halts are not approved by the railways, alternative halt arrangements will be made by IRCTC/SZ to cover such sightseeing locations. Under such circumstances, announcements will be made on the train. For eg: If halt at Allahabad is not approved by the railways, an alternate halt at Prayag will be requested by IRCTC.
