Amritsar

Amritsar is a great place to visit during the festival of Diwali. It is celebrated with Bandi Chhor Divas, which is a significant festival for Sikhs. It honours Guru Hargobind Ji, the sixth Sikh Guru, return from prison. Special prayers are held in the city and the Golden Temple looks wonderful when enlightened. Cool-weather, mustard fields (Sarson k khet) and the love of the locals are things that you can enjoy. The cuisine is well-known and will have one craving for more.

Goa

The place is known for its beaches and is one of the major tourist destinations in the country. The special addition during Diwali is Naraka Chaturdashi, it is formally known as Choti Diwali. Locals builds various Narakasura idols of huge size which is filled with grass and firecrackers. Then they burn the figure in the late hours of dawn. Along with the celebration, you can have a good time exploring the place, beaches, casinos and fancy restaurants.

Kolkata
