For Critics Of The Statue Of Unity, Here's A Question

Written By Pradeep Bhandari (Guest Writer) | Mumbai | Published:

Had Sardar Patel not been there, we'd have needed a visa to go from one end of India to another.

Had Sardar Patel not been there, India would have been split into 562 princely states.

Had Sardar Patel not been there, we wouldn't have been able to talk about Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat - One India.

That's why, to commemorate and honour Sardar Patel, the Statue of Unity is being inaugurated at the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the Narmada.

To those who are criticising, I have only one question - Why are you only criticising the Sardar Patel statue? If I accept your logic that the money used in constructing this statue should have been used elsewhere, then all the statues in the world should also be removed, and all those statues that are symbols of history and historical contributions should be forgotten. I condemn this bizarre logic.
