Big Highlight/ Hardeep Puri lauds PM Modi's 'good governance' & 'good politics', stresses on BJP's return in 2024
"Hamari Nahi Toh Kiski Aaegi Sarkar 2024 mein?” asked Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri during Republic Bharat's 'Nation First' Summit on Thursday.
“Hamari Nahi Toh Kiski Aaegi Sarkar 2024 mein?” (If not ours (BJP), whose government will come to power in 2024?) asked Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri during Republic Bharat's 'Nation First' Summit on Thursday. The Union Minister stated that the basic data at the time when Narendra Modi took over as the Prime Minister in 2014 needs to be compared with that of 2023 as he cited major improvement.
“In 2014, the economy of India was in the 10th position and they used to say that the country's economy is among the fragile file. Today we have not only reached at the 5th position but it will become the economy of 4 trillion dollars till December 2023. Countries like Japan and Germany which are ahead of us are at 4.1 trillion dollars. IMF and World Bank in their census have also projected India's anticipated rate of growth from 6.1 to 6.3%,” he said.
“Prime Minister Modi has proved the fact that Good governance is also good politics,” said Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He added, “We have witnessed this during the pandemic as the SVANidhi scheme was brought in for one of the most vulnerable sections of our society which are street vendors at a time when the economic activity had come to a halt.”
Puri highlighted that there are two different models in the country- One is PM's model and the other is Revadi distribution model. “There is a major difference between our Revadi and Opposition's. During the COVID-19 outbreak when there was no economic activity, we had provided 300 crore worth of ration three times a day to the population of 80 crore and we still do. A democratically elected government cannot see its citizens dying of hunger. And Ujjawala Yojana is for the people who are Below the Poverty Line which is an economically weaker section.”
“Our schemes did not lead to inflation. Our economy is stable today. If we get into Revadi politics, then we will fall into a debt trap,” said Puri adding that what also needs to be looked at is what kind of issues are being raised by the Opposition.
On being asked about the inauguration of Ram Mandir, the Union Minister said, “It is a happy moment as I can't explain in words that Raja Ram will return to his Mahal after 500 years. Next year we will join the celebrations in Ayodhya.”
Puri further stated that this is our historical and cultural development but the government has worked on several other development projects in the past years.
“Kartavyapath, New Parliament building, Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi are the four infrastructural projects. Including this several urban developments are taking place, the Urban metro system, RAPIDX, and Vande Bharat trains. The Central leadership is working on the overall development of the country,” he said.
