Tokyo Olympics 2020: PV Sindhu says, 'My ultimate aim is to win Gold'

After becoming the first Indian to win the BWF World Championships in August this year, ace Badminton player PV Sindhu on Wednesday said that her only focus now is to win a gold medal at Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

"Right now my focus is on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and my main aim is to work hard and give my best at the Olympics," Sindhu told reporters.

"My ultimate aim is to get gold, but it is not going to be easy and I need to work hard," she added. Sindhu spoke about her 2020 Tokyo Olympics plan while attending an event by the Kerala State Government. The shuttler was felicitated with a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh by the Kerala Olympic Association President V Sunil.

Talking about her performance in Korea Open, she said that the game was a learning experience for her and she hopes to perform better in the future. 

"I was happy with my performance, but then you win some you lose some. I learn from my game and hopefully, I will do well in the Denmark Open," said Sindhu.

PV Sindhu was knocked out of the Korea Open in the first round. On August 25, the 24-year-old became the first Indian to win a World Championships gold medal by defeating Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-7 in the finals of the tournament held in Switzerland's Basel.

After becoming the World Champion, PV Sindhu has promised to work harder to clinch more medals. the 24-year-old athlete out-played Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 21-7 21-7 in a lop-sided final of the big event in Basel, Switzerland August 25, two years after being robbed of the gold by Okuhara in an epic 110-minute final at Glasgow that went down as one of the greatest battles in badminton history.

2020 Tokyo Olympics 

The 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, would just not be about games but they will also be promoting the message of sustainable development and climate change. The medals for the event were recently unveiled and it is revealed that the medals will be made from recycled electronic waste, primarily old phones that the Japanese people have disposed of.
