P V Sindhu on Sunday became the first Indian to win badminton World Championships gold by beating familiar rival Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in a lop-sided final on Sunday in Basel, Switzerland. The Indian won 21-7 21-7 in the summit clash that lasted just 38 minutes. A video posted on YouTube shows the rigorous amount of training and dedication that P V Sindhu puts in to make it to the top. Apart from her badminton training, P V Sindhu also spends hours working out in the gym.

The video was uploaded by Suchitra Badminton Academy. P V Sindhu's training video shows the different kinds of exercises along with a blend of workout. Sindhu can be seen working out with her trainers in the gym. These exercises show P V Sindhu working out with barbells, Swiss ball and even mini-hurdles for that matter.

Apart from these, additional workout includes crunches and stretching with resistance bands. These preparations and meticulous training have led P V Sindhu to become a Badminton World Champion. Coach Pullela Gopichand hails victory

PV Sindhu's coach and badminton icon Pullela Gopichand lauded the World Champion's maiden gold medal win and said that it was extremely significant, considering the proximity of the victory. Gopichand said that India is on its way to Tokyo Olympics 2020 with a gold medal in badminton. He also praised PV Sindhu for the manner in which she structured her victory and applauded her spirit as a champion. ''Over the last few years, we have won bronze and silver. Finally, we have got our hands on the elusive gold medal. Going into the Olympic year with the gold, it gives a lot of og confidence. It is not only a victory or being a World Champion but it is the way she has done it that makes me so happy and proud'', he said.
