Badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap are getting married in Hyderabad at the Novotel Hotel on 16 December.

This seems to be the season for weddings among Indian celebrities. From Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh sending everyone gaga over their lavish wedding reception in Italy to Priyanka Chopra set to tie the knot with Nick Jonas in Jodhpur, the sporting fraternity awaits one of the biggest the union of two of the country's topmost badminton stars - Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap.

The badminton stars had earlier pulled off the covers off their secretive relationship and revealed that were set to take their wedding vows on December 16. And now, the invitations of the ceremony have gone viral.

If the images on social media are to be believed, there are two versions of the invitations handed out to the guests. The first is pink in color from the soon-to-be-hitched couple, calling out the guests to grace Novotel Hotel in Hyderabad by 7:00 pm on Sunday, 16 December.

The second invite which is in beige and red color, and is believed to be from Saina Nehwal's parents' end. In the invitation sent out by Saina's parents Usha Rani and Dr. Harvir Singh, the ceremony kickstarts at 6:30 pm.

The wedding said to be an extremely private affair with 100 people in attendance. However, the ceremony is supposed to be a glittering affair with some of India's top sportsperson invited for the occasion.

As per reports, the duo has managed to keep their alleged relationship under the covers by hanging out in a group that mainly includes Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Guru Sai Dutt. Speculations are rife that something is brewing between the duo, but they have neither confirmed anything regarding the same nor denied it. 

One can say that the rumoured couple will be following the footsteps of badminton couples which comprise of Susy Susanti and Alan Budikusuma, Lin Dan and Xie Xingfang, Madhumita Goswami and Vikram Singh Bhist, Syed Modi and Ameeta Kulkarni to name a few.

Kashyap is a Commonwealth Games gold medalist of 2014 and reportedly has always maintained that Saina is a friend and a practice partner. However, reports suggest that the two met when they began training under Pullela Gopichand in 2005.  

Saina Nehwal has become one of India's most eminent badminton players and has won 20 major titles including an Olympic bronze and a silver at the World Championships while Kashyap also did well at the men's circuit and was once ranked world No. 6.
