An almighty spat has broken out between two of India's top shuttlers as Jwala Gutta has taken on Saina Nehwal for her histrionics before the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Taking to Twitter, Gutta has remarked on the controversy where Saina Nehwal refused to play in the CWG for India unless her father was accredited as an official and allowed to stay in the games village at Gold Coast.

Gutta has written:

"Hmmm..my family always paid for tickets n stayed in hotels...I have no idea what’s being promised n what’s the demand?? But for the games when u know dates long before the team leaves..isn’t it better to book n plan in advance? Threatening not play..is it correct??"

"Funny...how such things like demanding for money awards plots etc etc  on social media doesn’t count for controversies...and when asked for right to play is controversial 😒🙄 #hypocrisytoanotherlevel"

Before that, over a 24-hour period on the eve of the Commonwealth Games, Saina Nehwal had complained that her father hadn't been allowed to enter the village or see her matches. She had written:

"Surprise to see that when we started from India for commonwealth games 2018 my father was confirmed as the team official and I paid the whole amount for that but when we came to the games village ... his name was cut from team official category .. and he can’t even stay with me ."

"He can’t c my matches and he can’t enter the village nor he can meet me in anyway .. what kind of support is this ..@thecgf"

"I wanted his support as I regularly take him for my competitions ...but i didn’t understand why nobody informed me all this earlier .. that he can’t enter anywhere #CommonwealthGames2018"

Earlier, after Republic TV had highlighted that Saina's father was travelling as part of the Indian contingent as a CWG official, he was denied access to the Games Village. Following that, she wrote a letter to the Indian Olympic Association threatening to not play if her father's accreditation wasn't completed.

Just a short while later, the IOA caved, providing the accreditation card to Saina Nehwal's father.

She posted the following tweet thanking the IOA.
