Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown has welcomed the conversation about racism in the city, but not the way the topic was brought up.

"Racism right now is bigger than basketball, and I do think racism is bigger than Game 3 of the playoffs," said the Celtics player, who is recovering from wrist surgery.

"However, I do not like the manner it was brought up, centering around a playoff game."

He was referring to Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving's comments about the TD Garden crowd this week, where Irving spoke about hearing racist comments from fans at Celtics' home games.

Brown also clarified that not all Celtics fan is a racist, but despite that Boston has "a lot of work to do".
