'A rare configuration of planets': Cricket fraternity gobsmacked at Pakistan fans' support for India versus England in the World Cup

Support continues to pour in for India from Pakistan fans as the much-awaited face-off between England and India is all set to go down the wire in a few hours. Pakistan will be rooting for India to emerge victorious in the match against England so that they stand a chance to qualify for the semi-finals.

Support continues to pour in for India from Pakistan fans as the much-awaited face-off between England and India is all set to go down the wire in a few hours. Pakistan will be rooting for India to emerge victorious in the match against England so that they stand a chance to qualify for the semi-finals. 

Pakistani fans were seen enthusiastically supporting and cheering for India on social media. One could not help but notice how fans of the rival nation were offering unconditional support to India, strongly hoping that the Men in Orange will beat the host country. In the 29 June clash between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the latter's fans were seen shouting and cheering for India, even though the match was on the next day. 

Former cricketers took to social media to point out the arch-rivals becoming bonhomies ahead of the exciting encounter. 

Former England skipper Micheal Vaughan tweeted saying that a large chunk of Pakistan fans was supporting India in their game against England. Here's the tweet:

Nasser Hussain, former England captain, posted a question to Pakistan fans asking whom they were going to support in India-England clash. His tweet was greeted with a lot of love and humor instead of the bubbling angst that he expected. Read the thread here:

Commentator Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to point out the rare occasion where the fans of India's neighboring and rival countries extended their wholehearted support to India for Sunday's game. Here's the tweet: 

While India's victory would seal a berth for them at the semi-finals, it will also give Pakistan a chance to go past the group stage, as they are miraculously trying to repeat the famous 1992 campaign.
