The Abu Dhabi T10 league has teamed up with UAE-based Dreams2Play to host a talent hunt programme. It enables budding amateur cricketers to apply for selection to play in the Abu Dhabi T10 league. The aspirants have to upload a video of their skills and stand a chance to get picked up by the teams in the league. The Abu Dhabi T10 is the 3rd edition of the T10 league. The 10-day tournament kicks off on November 14, 2019.
This Partnership is the world’s first “digital to physical’ platform. It will enable young cricketers to upload videos of their batting, bowling and fielding skills. The users have to make a profile and upload the videos through the website or the smartphone app. The uploaded videos will be judged by a panel of ICC approved coaches. The coaches will analyse the applicants' strengths from the data available and will create a list of 100 talents.
The players selected by the special jury will be created by the Dreams2Play. They will deliver this 100-player list to the eight franchises in the Abu Dhabi T10 league. The franchises can then pick one or two players from the draft for their team. The shortlisted cricketers will be given a chance to be part of the T10 league.
Dreams2Play enables the fast-tracking of young talents on the main circuit. Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi T10, said that the talent hunt helps them in scouting the best talents across the world. The platform enables them to bring these talents to the eight franchises of the league. The league kicks off on November 14, with superstars such as Shahid Afridi, Andre Russell, Eoin Morgan all set to take part in the Abu Dhabi T10.
