Jos Buttler played a sensational knock against Pakistan at The Ageas Bowl on Saturday. The 28-year-old came into bat in the 36th over after the dismissal of Joe Root. He took the attack to the Pakistan bowlers in no time as runs started flowing steadily and fluently from his bat. Buttler accelerated and he registered his 8th ODI ton. He played an enterprising knock of an unbeaten 55-ball 110 at a strike rate of 200 which included six boundaries and nine maximums. He added 162 runs with skipper Eoin Morgan, who supported him with a vital knock of an unbeaten 48-ball 71, which propelled England to a huge total of 373/3.

Former England skipper Nasser Hussain showered praises on the swashbuckling middle-order batsman. During the interval, Hussain told a media channel that Buttler is a 'freak' and that sometimes, one does not realise what he has got because it is right in front of them. Hussain also opined that Buttler's name should also be up there with the three or four greatest white-ball players of all time. The veteran of 86 Tests and 96 One-Day Internationals also put Buttler in the category of some big names in World Cricket which include Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and MS Dhoni.

Buttler brought up his century in just 50 balls. However, the surprising thing about this knock is that it just took him 18 balls to reach his century after scoring the first 50 runs. Coincidentally, Buttler had also scored a 46-ball ton against the same opposition in 2015, which is the fastest by an Englishman.

Even the netizens showered praises on the stylish middle-order batsman for his quickfire knock.

Earlier, Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bowl first on a flat track. England got off to a brisk start as openers Jason Roy (87) and Jonny Bairstow (51) added 115 runs for the opening wicket.
