It was learned that West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell was ruled out of the three-match T20I series against India which starts from Saturday. However, in a surprising turn of events, he was seen playing in the ongoing edition of the Global T20 Canada at Brampton on Friday. Surprised? No need to be as he represents Vancouver Knights which is led by his countryman Chris Gayle and in fact, Russell had made his presence felt in the Knights' last match against Edmond Royals. Nonetheless, the Caribbean power-hitter could not make any impact as he was cleaned up by Ben Cutting for a golden duck. The all-rounder was also not seen bowling in the contest.
It was reported that Andre Russell has been ruled out after he failed to recover from a knee injury and was replaced by Jason Mohammed in the West Indies’ 14-man squad. But, after seeing him play in the franchise cricket, the netizens trolled him.
Team India's bilateral series against West Indies include two Tests, three One Day Internationals and three T20Is starting from 3rd August to 4th September 2019. The three-match Test series will be a part of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (2019-2021).
The biggest news is that of Shikhar Dhawan's come back from injury. The opening batsman will be a part of the limited-overs squad.
