The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier announced that they would also be looking to add new members in their personal apart from the position of head coach. Ravi Shastri retained his position as Team India's head coach last week and he will be associated with the team till the end of ICC World T20 2021.

After the head coach has been finalised in the form of Ravi Shastri, BCCI also had to finalise other departments of the coaching staff which included batting, bowling, fielding, Strength & Conditioning coach and the other positions involved that of the physiotherapist and Administrative  Manager.

Beginning Monday, a total of 14 candidates for the position of Batting Coach, 12 for Bowling Coach, nine for Fielding Coach, 16 for the position of Physiotherapist, 12 for the post of Strength and Conditioning Coach and 24 for the position of Administrative Manager were interviewed. The entire process lasted four days and concluded on Thursday evening.

However, such was the competition for the coaching staff that the selection committee had to make some tough choices while shortlisting the candidates. In the end, they made their selections for the next support staff of Team India.

Netizens annoyed after not finding Jonty Rhodes' name in the coaching staff

While Bharat Arun, Vikram Rathour, Ravi Shastri were familiar faces in the coaching staff of Team India, Jonty Rhodes was nowhere to be seen in the list and this did not go down well with the netizens who believed that Rhodes would have done wonders for Team India as their fielding coach. In fact, the former South African cricketer had expressed his desire to be associated with the Indian team.
