Former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist wished the citizens of India on the eve of the 73rd Independence Day on August 15. The Australian southpaw, known for his close ties with the country during his stint in the Indian Premier League annually, took to Twitter to convey his wishes to his friends in India.

The former Australian cricketer took to Instagram to post a video of one of his favourite places in India - Dharamsala and wished the Indians a happy Independence Day with a caption that read, ''As the sun sets across India on Independence Day, very best wishes to all and hope celebrations were great. Thought I’d post this sunset from my favourite Macloo Bar in Mcleod Ganj, Dharmsala.''

Team India wishes everyone a Happy Independence Day

On the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day, Team India has also come to wish their fans. The likes of  Rohit Sharma, Kedar Jadhav, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav and coach Ravi Shastri have conveyed their Independence Day wishes to all the fellow Indians. Meanwhile, skipper Kohli has termed it as the 'Most iconic day in the history of our country'.

The video of the Indian Cricket Team wishing their fans was posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on their official Twitter handle with a caption 'Team India wishes everyone a very Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind.
