England are looking to settle scores against their arch-rivals Australia in the ongoing Ashes series at the 'Mecca of Cricket', Lord's. The hosts head into this contest after a humiliating 251-run loss. To make matters worse, one of their star pacers James Anderson was ruled out due to a calf injury while a shoulder injury has ruled leg-spinner Adil Rashid out for a couple of months. Moeen Ali has been dropped owing to his poor form. Meanwhile, young sensation Jofra Archer has made his Test debut.

Jason Roy's disappointing campaign continues

However, what disappointed the English fans the most was that of Jason Roy's failure. Roy failed to make an impact in the Test which was very important from England's perspective. He did not have an impressive first match as well where he could manage only 38 runs in two innings with scores of 10 & 28 respectively. At Lord's the 28-year-old's stay at the crease lasted for only three deliveries before he was caught behind by Aussie skipper Tim Paine off Josh Hazlewood.

After this failure, it seemed like the fans had enough and they criticised the South African born batsman for testing their patience.

Australian skipper Tim Paine won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first. Nevertheless, no play was possible on the first day due to rain. But, the visitors tasted success on the second day thanks to Josh Hazlewood as the tall pacer scalped the wickets of Roy and captain Joe Root to put the home side on the back foot early on.
