Having already sealed their passage into the 2018 Asia Cup final, by registering comprehensive wins against Pakistan and Bangladesh, the defending champions India will now lock horns with a resurgent Afghanistan in their penultimate fixture

India has been invincible in the six-nation tournament and will look to continue their dominance against under-dogs Afghanistan, who have proved that they can be no pushovers after narrowly losing out to Pakistan and Bangladesh.

With that being said, Afghanistan has already crashed out of the contention for the final and thus the concluding Super Four fixture between Bangladesh and Pakistan becomes a virtual semi-final.

However, the Men in Blue cannot afford to be complacent as the match serves as great preparation ahead of the final. With all-rounder Rashid Khan at the helm, it won't be easy as it seems for India.

Aware of the threat that Afghanistan pose, and in spite knowing that this tie is more of formality of sorts, Rohit Sharma and the team management can opt to rest few players giving them much needed rest and test the bench strength.

In that scenario, expect KL Rahul or Manish Pandey to slot in place anywhere between the Indian middle-order, while medium pacers Siddharth Kaul and Khaleel Ahmed could come in to give Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah a breather.

India is highly unlikely to tickle with their top-order combination of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, who in tandem have consistently been a thorn in the opposition attack throughout the tournament. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will lead the spin department, with either one of Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and Kedhar Jadhav will be considered to be rested.

While Afghanistan, will be banking on their strong batting prowess to lead their charge, before unleashing their deadly spin trio consisting of Mohammmed Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan to thwart the famed Indian batting lineup.

A major concern for Afghanistan is their lack of experience in high-pressure situations. But given that they have nothing to lose in this fixture, they can go out there and enjoy their cricket.

Here's how both teams could lineup today!

India: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul/ Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey/Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav/ Khaleel Ahmed, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar/Siddharth Kaul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah

Afghanistan:  Mohammad Shahzad, Ihsanullah Janat, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Asghar Afghan, Mohammad Nabi, Samiullah Shenwar, Rashid Khan, Gulbadin Naib, Aftab Alam, Mujeeb Ur Rahman
