Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 25 runs at the third match of T20 tri-series on Sunday. Mohammad Nabi was 54-ball 84-runs not out and he scored three fours and seven sixes which helped the team recover from 40 for 4, notching 164 for 6. Whereas, Mujeeb Ur Rahman claimed his career-best at 4-15. The team broke its record with the most successive wins in T20Is with their 12th victory.

Mohammad Nabi: All because of team effort

All-rounder Mohammad Nabi said that the win was, "Totally a team effort. Bangladesh were brilliant with the ball early, but Asghar and I planned to target last five overs. Shot selection at the top wasn't great." Furthermore, he added, "Mujeeb was brilliant, so was the captain." Pace bowler Mohammad Saifuddin produced his career-best 4-33 for Bangladesh. It was Afghanistan's second straight victory after beating Zimbabwe by 28 runs on Saturday.

Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan said, "40 for 4 is always tough to come back from, but you have to be mentally ready for such challenges, Asghar and Nabi did well to take it deep."

The Afghan Cricket Board congratulated Nabi and Mujeeb for their career-bests.

Bangladesh Captain Shakib Al Hasan: Will carry momentum into the next game

Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh's cricket captain said, "With the team going through a tough time this kind of a win will give a lot more confidence than just an easy win. We hope to carry the momentum to the next game against another difficult opponent." Bangladesh was earlier set to win by 165. However, they lost all their team by 139 runs in 19.5 overs, falling short of 25 runs.

The last time the two sides met was for a T20Is three-match series which was played in June last year, at Dehradun. While Afghanistan won the first two games, Afghanistan won the third game by a single run, as Shafiquallah's final ball stopped Bangladesh from attaining victory.
