BCCI rubbishes reports of CoA asking Virat Kohli to conduct himself with 'humility'

The Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) has rubbished reports that the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) had asked Indian skipper Virat Kohli to conduct himself with 'humility' following his controversial comment earlier this month, wherein he asked a cricket fan to 'live outside India' for stating he preferred watching England and Australian batsmen over the Indians.

Stating that such rumors and reports are completely false and baseless, Indian cricket's governing body released a statement on its official website, which read, "There has been a report in the media by a Mumbai based tabloid dated November 17, 2018 with the headline “Be Humble: Virat Kohli gets a CoA memo”. The report stated that India Captain Virat Kohli has been sent a memo by the CoA to conduct himself with “humility”. Contrary to the media report, the BCCI after consulting with the team management would like to rubbish the report and classify it as baseless."

A couple of weeks ago, a video emerged which showed Kohli, during an interaction with fans on Twitter, not happy with a cricket fan for stating he prefers foreign batsmen more than the Indians. 

The individual's question to Kohli read, "Over-rated batsman and personally I see nothing special in his batting. I enjoy watching English and Australian batsmen more than these Indians."

The Indian skipper replied by stating that any individual who doesn't like his own country's team should leave the country and reside somewhere else.

"Okay, I don’t think you should live in India, then you should go and live somewhere else no. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? But I don’t mind you not liking me, but I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right," he said.

A couple of days after his comments, the CoA stated that they will look into the situation and decide the course of action to be taken. ""The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) will look into the matter," a source told ANI.
