Pakistan on Monday proved why they are an unpredictable side as they beat hosts England by 14 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match at Trent Bridge. They put their lacklustre loss against West Indies behind and clicked well as a unit with the bat by getting off to a good start riding on a solid opening platform by Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq. Praising Pakistan's performance in the World Cup, business tycoon Anand Mahindra said that he did not expect that the World Cup 2019 will become this gripping at such an early stage.

While he had hoped to witness a historic run-chase by the England team, Anand Mahindra said that he ended up cheering the Pakistani team for their "sheer grit".

Cricket Commentator Harsha Bhogle also hailed the "staggering performance" that Pakistan put up against the England. He further added that "with Pakistan, yesterday has no connection to today, today has none to tomorrow".

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif was all praises for Pakistan calling it a "fantastic win" for the country. He further said that Pakistan have showed up a lot of character after the humiliating loss against West Indies.

Pakistan had lost their opening match to West Indies in 3-and-a-half hours and were criticized severely by the likes of Rameez Raja and Shoaib Akhtar.
