The match is the second of the double-header scheduled to be held at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on October 18. It will begin shortly after the conclusion of Central Punjab vs Southern Punjab fixture at the same venue.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have won just one out of their three matches and are currently placed fifth on the points table. The Northern, on the other hand, have won one and lost one from their two matches. With a superior net run-rate, the Imad Wasim led-side are comfortably placed third in the standings. Northern won their opening game of the tournament, defeating Southern Punjab by 5 wickets on October 14. However, they failed to defend 222 against Central Punjab as they lost the high-scoring thriller with a ball to spare. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, too, had a great start in the ongoing edition. After their opening victory against Balochistan, the Mohammad Rizwan-led side lost back-to-back matches against Southern Punjab and Sindh.
