Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has taken a jibe at Australian batsman Usman Khawaja, stating that even in his sleep, Indian spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja can dismiss him.

In the six innings he has played in the ongoing series, Khawaja has been dismissed thrice by the spinners. He was dismissed by Ashwin in both the innings in the first Test, and by Jadeja in the first innings in the second Test. And Ganguly believes the Aussie is vulnerable to spin. Speaking to India TV, he said,

"The current batting lineup of Australia sans David Warner and Steven Smith is still born and brought up in the country and hence is in no ways weak. But it's ironic that they are failing as a unit for quite some time now. Usman Khawaja has been found out by the Indian attack to the extent that even if he is asleep, Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja can dismiss him in his dreams."

Khawaja has scored a mere 167 runs in the three Test matches so far. The very fact that he and his teammates have failed to get big runs on the board sees Australia trailing the four-Test series 2-1 heading into the final match.

In the recently concluded Boxing Day Test, a valiant effort by Pat Cummins and rain washing away the first session of Day Five was not enough for Australia as India made sure that there was no fairytale ending by beating the hosts by 137 runs in Melbourne.
