Team India coach Ravi Shastri turned 57, just three days before his first Cricket World Cup. Previously, Shastri has been the team director in 2015, a commentator in 2011, 2007, 2003, 1999 and 1996 and played the World Cups in 1992 and 1987.
With the veteran turning 57, birthday wishes have been pouring in from social media. Calling him a 'fantastic human being', the Indian skipper Virat Kohli too extended a heartfelt message. "A friend, mentor and above all a fantastic human being. Happy birthday Ravi Bhai", he wrote.

Shastri represented the India national cricket team as a player between 1891 and 1992 in both Tests and ODIs. Although, he started his career as a left arm spin bowler, only to transform into a batting all-rounder. In a career spanning over 12 years, the Team India coach scored,830 runs in Test matches and claimed 151 wickets.
Meanwhile, India will begin their World Cup campaign against South Africa on June 5 at Southampton.
