Indian commentator and analyst Harsha Bhogle opposed skipper Virat Kohli and a member of the Cricket Advisory Committee's preference of letting Ravi Shastri continue as the head coach of the Men in Blue.
The Indian commentator said that it wasn't a good idea for 'key influencers' to state their preferences while applications for the post of the head coach were still open. Bhogle joined former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra's in expressing disappointment over the Indian team skipper and a CAC member stating that they want Ravi Shastri to be given another chance as the head coach, while applications for the post was still open.

Former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra took a dig at the selection of the head coach as he took to Twitter to express his views. The regional commentator said that the skipper had voiced his preference. Similarly, he said that a Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) member had also made his preference for Shastri to continue as India's head coach. He took a dig at all those had applied for the post of the head coach and wished them luck if they thought they would stand a chance.
Captain Virat Kohli on Monday said he is in favour of Ravi Shastri continuing as the coach of the Indian cricket team despite the criticism that followed their semi-final ouster from the ICC World Cup.
The Indian coaching staff, currently led by Shastri, was given a 45-day extension after their contract expired at the end of the 2019 World Cup in England.
"Well, the CAC (Cricket Advisory Committee) has not contacted me on this. But all of us share a great camaraderie with Ravi bhai and would definitely be very happy (with him around)," Kohli told reporters ahead of leaving for the West Indies tour.
"But as I had said, it's on the CAC to decide (how to go about it)."
