Sachin Tendulkar has hailed the Mumbai Indians' crucial victory in the first IPL qualifier which has seen the team make it to within one more victory of becoming the first side to win four IPL titles.
Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar, who was at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday night, has praised the bowling performance that saw the Mumbai Indians restricting a rampant Chennai Super Kings to just 131 runs despite losing only four wickets in twenty overs.
The Master Blaster has picked up the spinners for specific praise. Rahul Chahar, in particular, had finished with almost test match-esque figures of four overs, 14 runs conceded and two wickets taken. In terms of batting he has praised Suryakumar Yadav who scored 71 runs and Ishan Kishan for supporting him at the other end with 28.
Here's Tendulkar's tweet:
Batting first, Chennai hadn't got going till it was entirely too late, with the first four batsmen scoring just 47 runs between them at less than a run per ball, before Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni mounted a late rally. Dhoni had scored three sixes and was also involved in a thrilling moment in the final balls as he swung his bat wildly, losing control of it as both bat and ball flew in opposite directions. While he was caught, he wasn't given out as replays showed the bowler had overstepped.
This isn't the end for Chennai, however. The Delhi Capitals will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator on Wednesday evening, following which the winner will once again face CSK in the second qualifier.
