ICC turns third Umpire to resolve gully cricket dilemma, consults 8.61 million Twitter followers before giving final decision

Playing gully cricket can turn tricky especially when there are no umpires assisting the game. The street cricketers often turn into match referees themselves to decide the fate of the batsman or the bowler. Not surprisingly, this leads to endless quarrels and banter with often the player who "owns" the bat eventually having the last laugh. 

On Sunday a similar situation arose when a group of gully cricket players was stuck with a dilemma when the middle-stump had fallen over, but the bails had stayed put, creating the confusion for the players.

However, they came up with a brilliant solution to solve the 'Out or not out' situation. The International Cricket Council (ICC) received this picture from one of the player requesting the cricket’s governing body to clarify whether the batsman was out or not. However, ICC did not disappoint the fan as it turned to its 8.61 million followers for advice.

It did not take long for the post to be flooded with reactions, with many cricket fans expressing claiming that the batsman was, in fact, not out. Some even joked that the final call depended on the person who owned the cricket bat.
