The Hitman scored a splendid 104 in 92 deliveries against Edgbaston in Birmingham on Tuesday which was instrumental in the Men in Blue sealing a semi-final spot.  The Mumbaikar became the first Indian batsman to register four centuries in the same World Cup. He is also only one behind legendary Sachin Tendulkar, with five centuries in the overall tournament, while emulating other legends like Kumar Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting. Rohit also went past Sourav Ganguly's tally of 25 tons to become the third-highest Indian century-maker, behind Sachin and Virat Kohli. Moreover, the 32-year-old also became the top-scorer of the current tournament with 544 runs.

The Indian vice-captain is making his bat do the talking now. However, there was a time when he was gutted after being he was not included in the Indian squad that emerged triumphant in 2011. Nonetheless, the Mumbai batsman got an opportunity to make his maiden World Cup appearance in the 2015 edition where he scored 330 runs in eight matches including two half-centuries and a ton.
