While India might have asserted their dominance in the series against West Indies, the same can't be said for KL Rahul whose slump in form continued on Day 2 of the second Test in Hyderabad.

Though, the series against West Indies might be considered a warmup for the Indian players ahead of the grueling assignment in Australia which will take place next month. With Mayank Agarwal yet to make his debut despite his impressive domestic performances, a lot was expected from KL Rahul on the second test.

However, the Indian opening batsman failed to deliver the goods after falling cheaply for 4 runs with just 24 balls played. KL Rahul mistimed his shot after he couldn't judge Jason Holder's delivery and in the process got cleaned up in embarrassing fashion.

This could prove to be a massive blow to the right-hander's chance of cementing his place in the squad ahead of the tour of Australia. His dismal showing also invited the wrath of fans on social media. Here's how the Twitterati reacted:

Surprisingly, KL Rahul has failed to adapt to Indian conditions after scoring a magnificent century in the fifth test match of the England series. He had tinkered with his technique during the tour of England, however, as it seems, he is finding it difficult to cope with the change in conditions.

If KL Rahul has struggled for form in the series, his fellow team-mate Prithvi Shaw has grabbed the opportunity with both hands, and has made the most of it with impeccable panache. The 18-year-old starred on his debut with a maiden century, and carried his impressive form into the second Test by notching 70 runs off 53 balls.

After winning the toss, the Indian spinners were off the boil in the final session as all-rounder Roston Chase and Jason Holder steered the ship for West Indies taking them to a respectable total of 295 for seven on the opening day of the second Test.
