Pujara was India's leading run-scorer in the Test series against Australia Down Under where he had amassed almost 700 runs (692 to be precise) in four-match Test series. It played a significant role in India winning their first-ever Test series on Australian soil. The Rajkot batsman had also played a crucial knock during the Test series against South Africa in early 2018 on an extremely difficult wicket at Cape Town. Thanks to his efforts and solid resistance, the Virat Kohli-led side managed to win the final Test match and ended the series with a 2-1 margin having already lost the series.

He will be expected to continue his splendid form in the Caribbean following which India will be hosting South Africa at home next month as the race to the ICC World Test Championship gets more stiffer.
