In his 15-year illustrious cricketing career, the southpaw had represented India in 58 Tests, 147 One Day Internationals and 37 T20I's. He had played match-winning knocks in two of India's world title triumphs ( ICC World T20 2007 & ICC Cricket World Cup 2011). Apart from these triumphs, the Delhi batsman was also a part of the Indian squad which had registered famous wins like the Australian tri-series in 2007/08, clinching the number one spot in Test rankings in 2009 and winning the 50-overs Asia Cup the following year. The swashbuckling left-hander is also one of IPL's most successful skippers having led Kolkata Knight Riders to two titles in 2012 & 2014 respectively.

Gambhir is also a successful commentator as well as a successful analyst of the game. While he is still associated with cricket even after retirement, the 37-year-old attained success in politics as he serves as a Member of Parliament (MP) in East Delhi representing the BJP.
