Afghanistan's Test debut didn't exactly went as planned. Taking an Indian side at their home is a daunting task for any team in the world. But the batting display of Afghans was quite disappointing, even for their standards.

After their crushing defeat, the Indian team made their day, by calling them over at the trophy celebration. This piece of act by the home team won them applauds from the crowd, as well as people watching the match elsewhere.

Batting first, India finished Day One 347 for 6, thanks to centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay. The former scored his ton before the lunch, becoming the first Indian to ever achieve that feat, and sixth overall in cricket history.

The second day began with Ravichandran Ashwin and Hardik Pandya coming out to bat for the hosts. Ashwin was dismissed for 18 early in the day, but his partner took over after that. Pandya took on the Afghanistan bowlers, and with support from Ravindra Jadeja and Umesh Yadav, helped India reach 474 in their first innings.

If Aghanistan's bowling was ordinary, their batting was mediocre. The Indian bowling unit, led by Ashwin, bowled out Afghanistan for a mere 109. Mohammad Nabi was the highest scorer for the visitors with 24. None of the other batters managed to score above 15.

Ashwin was the star for India, taking 4 for 27. Support came in from Jadeja and Yadav, both taking two wickets each. Afghanistan's first innings lasted a mere 27.5 overs, ending at Tea.

But the batting of the visitors in second innings was even worse, as they were bundled out for 103. Hashmatullah Shahidi scored a valiant 36, and received temporary support from skipper Asghar Stanikzai, who made 25. But all the other batters failed again.

This time for India, it was Jadeja who shone with the ball, ending with figures of 4 for 17. Incidentally, it was India's biggest win in terms of runs. Also, 24 wickets which fell on Day Two is the highest ever in India.
