Ashish Nehra finally bids adieu to cricket. The story that had started way back in 1999 ends in 2017. What a journey it has been for 'Nehraji' and for a fast bowler to play 19 years of international cricket is a commendable achievement. Dhawan and Kohli picked him up on their shoulders, what memorable sight it was! This is what the game of cricket has to offer.12 surgeries for Ashish Nehra but he is still as fit as a fiddle, hitting the deck constantly at 135 km/hr. Delhi being Nehra's hometown, it was a perfect farewell and a well-deserved one.

The Men in Blue put up a dominant performance at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi, the openers were outstanding for team India and the bowlers pulled it off well in the middle. The 2nd T20 takes place at Rajkot and India would hope to continue with their present form. Team India now break the Kiwis jinx as they finally defeat New Zealand in T20 Internationals.

The Man of the Match awarded to Shikhar Dhawan for his fine 80 off 52 balls.

Goodbye & Thank you for joining us!!

Hello and a warm welcome for the 1st T20 match between India and New Zealand at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi. It was a nail-biting end to the ODI series and one could have asked for a better one day international, the quality of skill on display was sublime.

The focus now shifts to the T20 series and India would look to continue their top form in the series starting at Kotla. Remember, India has faced New Zealand five times before but is yet to taste victory against the Kiwis. New Zealand is the only test playing nation which India is yet to defeat in a T20 international.

India is currently ranked fifth in T20 international and can jump to the second rank with a series whitewash over the Islanders. This match also marks veteran Ashish Nehra's last game before he bids adieu to all forms of the game.

10: 57 IST, November 1st 2017

It takes a lot of grit and determination to be someone like Ashish Nehra. This might sound surreal but this man had to undergo 12 surgeries over the last 19 odd years.

He kept on passing the fitness tests and kept on defying his body because of the immense love that he had for the game

Nehra has played under 6 captains namely Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

This photograph perhaps is a true testament to what the game of cricket has to offer to youngsters and yes the rest is history!

PITCH REPORT!

"Flat and a very very small boundary. It has got the trappings of a good T20 game. A typical Kotla wicket - low bounce and comes on to the bat. There is a sprinkling of grass to hold the surface together. It is slightly cold and damp. The wicket makes a dent if we push our finger hard. There will be some turn for the spinners. A bit of nip for the pacers. It won't be all about batting,"
