Indian cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar passes away at the age of 87
Veteran Indian cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar, who is known to have trained several legendary cricketers most notably Sachin Tendulkar, passed away at the age of 87 on Wednesday, December 2.

Veteran Indian cricket coach Ramakant Vithal Achrekar, who is known to have trained several legendary cricketers most notably Sachin Tendulkar, passed away at the age of 87 on Wednesday, December 2 at his residence in Shivaji Park, Dadar, Mumbai. Both national and state Cricket Associations have extended condolence to the eminent coach.
BCCI took to Twitter to announce the sudden demise of the Dronacharya awardee. The organization took to Twitter and expressed its deepest sympathy on the passing of cricket legend. In the post, they wrote, "The BCCI expresses its deepest sympathy on the passing of Dronacharya award-winning guru Shri Ramakant Achrekar. Not only did he produce great cricketers, but also trained them to be fine human beings. His contribution to Indian Cricket has been immense."

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) also lamented the death of the legendary soul. In a Twitter post, they wrote, "Ramakant Achrekar Sir passes away. Deepest Condolences to the family from Mumbai Cricket Association."

Ramakant Achrekar was widely known for coaching young cricketers at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai. He has also been a selector for Mumbai cricket team. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has also paid tribute to his mentor addressing his fare-well speech.
Several celebrities across different platforms including Cricket personalities Mohammad Kaif and VVS Laxman have lamented the death of the legendary soul. Many of them have extended condolence to the family of the legendary soul on social media.
