The much-awaited selection meeting for the upcoming West Indies tour took place on Sunday and the squad for all three formats was announced. The selection meeting for the West Indies tour was hyped ever since India exited the World Cup, following their 18-run loss to New Zealand in the semi-finals.

Mayank Agarwal earned a call-up to the Test squad along with Hanumana Vihari and Wriddhiman Saha apart from India's regular Test players. Shikhar Dhawan has been axed from the Test squad. Ajinkya Rahane has been named the vice-captain for the test side.

Rishab Pant has been included in the squads for all the three formats and has been named the wicketkeeper across all three formats. KL Rahul also found himself named in all the three squads for the Men in Blue.

All-rounder Vijay Shankar and Prithvi Shaw have been ruled out of the tournament as they have not recovered completely from their injuries yet.

Fans of the Men in Blue had mixed reactions to the squad that was selected. Read some of the reactions below:

One fan suggested Prithvi Shaw in place of KL Rahul if he was fit and left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed in place of Umesh Yadav in the Test squad.

Fans heaved a sigh of relief after Ajinkya Rahane was included in the Test squad. Rahane had missed the World Cup bus and did not receive a call-up as a replacement despite injuries to players during the World Cup.

Netizens criticized the selectors for picking Kedar Jadhav despite his dismal performance in the World Cup for the Men in Blue.

Fans backed the choice of picking youngster Rishab Pant for all the three formats as he is expected to take over the reins from veteran wicketkeeper MS Dhoni once the latter retires.

Fans were also happy for KL Rahul as he is given more opportunities by the virtue of being selected in the squad for all the three formats along with Pant.

Ravindra Jadeja has impressed the selectors with his performance in the World Cup, even though he played only two games. One fan took to point out that Jadeja had made a comeback to the T20I team after two years.

A section of fans was surprised as opener Shubman Gill was not included in the squad.
