Bollywood actress and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) co-owner Preity Zinta has apologised to fans on behalf of her team for ‘not being up to the mark’ in the eleventh season of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Preity Zinta took to Twitter to express her disappointment after the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated KXIP by five wickets in Pune on Sunday, thereby knocking the team out of the play-offs race.
In her tweet, Preity Zinta also promised the fans that KXIP won’t let them down in the next season of IPL.
Reacting to KXIP’s loss, Preity Zinta tweeted, “Who would have thought that after winning 5 out of 6 games in the beginning @lionsdenkxip would have ended the #Ipl on this note. I’m sorry to all our fans & supporters for not being up to the mark this season. Next year we won’t let you down. #disappointed”
Meanwhile, a video recently surfaced on the internet in which Preity Zinta is happy after Mumbai Indians’ exit from the race to IPL 2018 play-offs. The video was taken during Kings XI Punjab's match against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. Preity took to Twitter to clarify her stance on the video and defended herself.
The Ravichandran Ashwin-led Punjab side won six out of their 14 matches to end their IPL 2018 campaign at the seventh place with 12 points.
The teams that have qualified for the play-offs are Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. The final of the IPL 2018 will be held on May 27.
