IPL 2019: With razor-thin margin, Chris Gayle surpasses David Warner to become fastest player to score 4,000 runs in IPL

Chris Gayle has added a new feather his cap on Monday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium as he became the fastest batsman in IPL history to score 4000 runs.

West Indian Chris Gayle has added a new feather his cap on Monday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium as he became the fastest batsman in IPL history to score 4000 runs. Prior to Kings XI Punjab's game against Rajasthan Royals, Gayle only had six runs to reach this milestone. He has achieved this feat in 112 innings. The 'Universe Boss' surpassed Australia's David Warner who held the previous record of amassing 4,000 runs in 114 innings.

Kings XI Punjab took to Twitter to acknowledge this milestone.

With the match still ongoing at the time of publishing, Gayle was dismissed for a splendid 47-ball 79 in the quest of adding quick runs and Kings XI Punjab were 144-3 after 15.5 overs.
