The ICC World Cup 2019 saw some fantastic display of cricket. In the end, the hosts England lifted the title for the very first time in their long cricketing history. Eoin Morgan and his men etched their names in history books as they won the coveted trophy after failing various times in the past editions.

Team England boasted of a lot of match-winners. Besides that, England's domestic circuit also has a lot of talent and have performed consistently for their respective franchises. Some of these noteworthy performers can wreak havoc at the auction table for IPL 2020 which will take place on December 19 in Kolkata.

Top 3 England cricketers who could attract bidders at the IPL 2020 auction:

3. Tom Banton:

Tom Banton made his T20 debut for Somerset in July 2017. The right-handed opening batsman has played 17 T20 matches for his county where he has scored 591 runs at an impressive average of 39.40. The wicketkeeper-batsman has smashed one century and four half-centuries in his short T20 career at a strike rate of 154.30. He has also showcased his prowess behind the stumps by taking six catches and three stumpings. Because of his 360-degree batting, he is compared with Jos Buttler and Kevin Pietersen. It will be interesting to see which team bags him at the auction if at all he is available for the next year’s IPL.

2. Eoin Morgan:

England's World Cup-winning skipper, Eoin Morgan has widely been appreciated for bringing the change in how England have approached ODI cricket or the shorter versions of the game in the past four years. Playing at No. 4, the Ireland-born cricketer has shown his ability to play the dual role of being the accumulator and even play as a hard-hitter and taking the attack to the opposition. In the World Cup, Morgan played the innings of the tournament against Afghanistan as he stroked a magnificent 148 in just 71 deliveries, including a record 17 sixes. His splendid show at the World Cup might also help his cause in the upcoming IPL auction after being out for favour in 2018.

1. Jason Roy:

An explosive, hard-hitting English opener, Jason Roy had a World Cup to remember in 2019. With loads of expectations on him, Roy was instrumental in providing his team with great starts on almost all occasions. He played a mesmerising inning in the World Cup semi-final against Australia to book a clash against the Kiwis in the final. Roy scored 443 runs in seven innings with an average of 63.29 including his highest score of 153 against Bangladesh. He will also be in sight of bidders during the IPL auction and might fetch a good bid. The right-hander could solve the conundrum for most franchises suffering from opening woes.
