While the release of Chris Lynn from KKR was surprising, something even more surprising was the release of leg-spinner Piyush Chawla. Chawla has been one of the most vital members of the Knight Riders team since his move to the franchise in 2014. He even hit the winning four for KKR in the 2014 IPL Finals. The leg-spinner is the fourth-highest wicket-taker in IPL and has bagged 150 wickets so far. Now that Chawla has been released from KKR, other teams may bid heavily for the bowling all-rounder who offers a lot of experience and consistency. Let us look at three teams who could do very well with Chawla's presence.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)

This is Piyush Chawla's original IPL home before he moved to KKR in 2014. Chawla played for the Kings XI from 2008 to 2013. He is the Kings XI's most successful wicket-taker even though he has not been in the KXIP colours for six seasons. Chawla bagged 84 wickets for the Mohali franchise and may act as an experienced spinning asset in the team, now that Ravichandran Ashwin has been released.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

Mumbai Indians have a pretty solid batting lineup with a very strong pace bowling department. However, one area where Mumbai lacks experience is the spin bowling department. While Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya definitely add their skills with the ball to Mumbai's spin prowess, Chawla's experience could definitely solidify their bowling attack.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Strong bowling and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are almost synonymous at this point. Sunrisers have created a very good balance of batting and bowling and now that Yusuf Pathan has been released, Chawla could fill his shoes and act as an experienced bowling all-rounder in the team. He could compliment Rashid Khan very well and make it very hard for the opposing teams on spinning pitches.
