Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced their 15-member World Cup squad on Thursday. Here's the full squad.

Dimuth Karunaratne will be leading the 1996 winners and veteran fast bowler Lasith Malinga has also made it to the playing squad. Malinga will be spearheading the bowling attack. However, a lot of main players were surprisingly excluded from the squad. They include Niroshan Dickwella, Danushka Gunathilaka, Dinesh Chandimal, Upul Tharanga and Akila Dananjaya.

Apart from their World Cup win in 1996, Sri Lanka had made it to two consecutive finals in 2007 and 2011 but had to be contented with finshing as the runners-up. They were knocked by South Africa in the quarterfinals in the 2015 World Cup.
