Jimmy Neesham clarifies initial tweet on Virat Kohli, realisation dawns on Netizens

Rory Burns registered his maiden Test century against Australia in the first Test match of Ashes 2019 against Australia at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Friday. This was also his first-ever ton in the Ashes. Opening the innings along with Jason Roy, Burns seemed comfortable against the Aussie pace attack. After having lost Roy early, he added a 132-run stand along with skipper Joe Root before Root was dismissed. The hosts then lost the crucial wickets of Joe Denly and Jos Buttler within the span of next 40 runs. But, the southpaw held on to one end firmly and saved the day for England. He remained unbeaten on 125 at the end of Day 2.

James Neesham appreciated Burns but in a mysterious manner

After Burns registered his maiden ton, New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham appreciated his tweet but then there was a mystery in it. Wondering what happened? The thing is that Neesham took to social media and wrote that Rory Burns has more runs in his first Ashes innings than Virat Kohli has in his entire Ashes career.

He then added that the Virat Kohli can’t play in the ashes because he’s Indian and thus, it would be a silly statement for him to compare his ashes runs to those of Rory Burns, an Englishman. The Kiwi then concluded by saying that it elicits a response of surprise.
