Suresh Raina had undergone successful knee surgery in Amsterdam on Friday. As per PTI sources, it has been learned that the injury will effectively rule him out of the better part of India's domestic season which starts later this month. It was also learned that Raina had a niggling knee problem since last season and will require at least six weeks of intense rehabilitation for recovery.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI) have posted a picture of Raina from the hospital and has also wished him a speedy recovery. They also wrote a statement which read '"Mr Suresh Raina underwent a knee surgery where he had been facing discomfort for the last few months. The surgery has been successful and it will require him 4-6 week of rehab for recovery,"
The fans came forward to wish their 'Chinna Thala' a speedy recovery. However, there was one person who also wished for Raina's well-being with a word of advice. He was Jonty Rhodes, arguably the best fielder of all time.
Rhodes took to social media and wrote that the Chennai Super Kings batsman has been an inspiration to so many with his incredible work ethic over his career especially in the last couple of years. The former Proteas cricketer then advised him to listen to his body as Rhodes knew that he would want to be out training tomorrow.
