The renaming ceremony

The Feroz Shah Kotla stadium was renamed as the ‘Arun Jaitley’ stadium on Thursday. It was done in order to pay tribute to the former union minister. Arun Jaitley was the president of the District Cricket Association (DDCA) from 1993 to 2013 and he brought about many reforms in the place. Jaitley played a significant role in renovating the stadium and constructing world-class dressing rooms. He was also an important person behind increasing the capacity of the stadium to accommodate more fans. Although the stadium was named after Jaitley, the ground will continue to be called Feroz Shah Kotla.
