'Go beyond - with passion and positivity' - that's the message from former Indian cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth to the youth of the nation. Talking to Republic TV, Kris Srikkanth said that it was important for the youngsters to decide what they want in life and said that he always believes that one should be an achiever. Former World Cup-winning cricketer Kris Srikkanth said that self-belief and positivity were essential for going beyond and achieving one's dreams. The former Indian opener also voiced his views about the Indian team's performance, Virat Kohli's captaincy and MS Dhoni's future, as he spoke exclusively to Republic TV. 

Kris Srikkanth's inspirational message for youth

"If you want to be an achiever, the first thing is your attitude has to be really good and should be positive. There will be a lot of challenges, criticisms and ups and downs and one should never give up. You should go past all that. The whole idea is to go beyond all this and the way to do this is to be passionate about it and be positive about it", Kris Srikkanth said.

India’s fine form in Test cricket

Recently, India defeated South Africa by a comprehensive margin of 203 runs to win the first Test in Vizag and go 1-0 up in the three-match Test series. Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, R. Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammad Shami made vital contributions in India’s huge win. By the virtue of this win, the Virat Kohli-led side continues to be at the top of the ICC World Test Championship points table as they added 40 valuable points to their tally. India who have been the top-ranked Test side since late 2016 now leads the points table with 160 points with a 100% win record in all the three games that they have played so far.

Rohit Sharma’s impressive debut as an opener

Rohit Sharma made a dream comeback to Test cricket by scoring centuries in both innings of the first of the three-match Test series against the Proteas. Sharma registered scores of 176 & 127 in both the innings respectively. Usually, known as an explosive batsman in the limited-overs format, Sharma adopted the Test match techniques when the situation had it demanded from him. After his heroics at Vizag, Rohit jumped to 17th position in the ICC Test Player Rankings which is his career-best ranking in the game's longest format. The 'Hitman' gained a massive 36 slots. Sharma has five tons in 28 Tests.
