Biryani ka kamaal?: Mohammed Shami reveals success mantra after India's Bangladesh win

Mohammed Shami revealed his success mantra to senior pacer Ishant Sharma after India's comprehensive win against Bangladesh in the first Test at Indore.

Mohammed Shami has had a phenomenal year so far. It all started in the World Cup where he bowled some wonderful spells and finished as India's second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. His form only got better after that and he has been doing really well in the ongoing home season for Team India. Meanwhile, the pacer had revealed his success mantra during the post-match interview.

Mohammed Shami reveals his success mantra

After India had comprehensively beaten Bangladesh in the first Test by an innings and 130 runs at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, the Indian pace battery consisting of Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Shami were interviewed by none other than the 'Voice of Indian Cricket' Harsha Bhogle. The pace trio spoke a lot of things about their game-plan, working in tandem and how they complimented each other. Shami who has been an instrumental pacer for Team India also for a few months also revealed the mantra of his success. When veteran pacer Ishant Sharma asked Shami how he is able to beat the batsmen by pitching the ball in the right areas, he revealed the reason behind it. 

''Look people say that it's because of having biryani which is untrue. It is luck and God's grace that I am succeeding in executing the ball in the proper line and length. So I am trying to focus constantly on that particular thing'.''

Shami achieves a new feat

In the first Test against Bangladesh where India had registered a comprehensive win, Mohammed Shami once again proved why he is the best bowler in the second innings as he has now become the most successful bowler in the last two years when it comes to bowling in the second innings. The star pacer now has 51 scalps from 20 innings. Only the likes of Australia's Pat Cummins (48) and Nathan Lyon (47) are near Shami. Mohammed Shami took seven wickets in the first Test match. He finished with figures of 3/27 in the first innings at an economy rate of 2.08 including five maidens whereas, in the second innings, he was yet again the pick of the Indian bowlers with figures of 4/31 at an economy rate of 1.94 including seven maidens.
