MS Dhoni has made a return to his hometown Ranchi after a stint with the Indian Army.  Dhoni was a part of a two-week stint with the 106th battalion of the Territorial Army which had commenced from July 31 and ended on August 15. After that, he was also seen in Jaipur to attend an award function.

MS Dhoni returns home

MSD was spotted at the Ranchi airport after spending some time in Jaipur. He is expected to play domestic cricket this season, however, there have been no official announcements yet. In the video, the 2011 World Cup-winning skipper can be seen exiting the airport and obliging a fan by taking a selfie with him. Then, Mahendra Singh Dhoni can be seen seated in his brand new luxury car i.e. the 2019 edition Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which was revealed on Instagram by his wife Sakshi Dhoni. As he drove back home, the fans gathered at the airport, cheered and hooted for him.

Sakshi Dhoni clears the air on MS Dhoni's retirement

Earlier, ever since India skipper Virat Kohli shared a picture of a moment from the knockouts of the 2016 World T20 with MS Dhoni and himself, speculations of MS Dhoni's retirement spread like wildfire on social media and news portals, with many thinking that Virat Kohli had sent out a signal hinting at the former skipper's retirement. MS Dhoni's wife Sakshi Dhoni took to Twitter to address the rumours that were raging on the internet. Taking to a micro-blogging website, Sakshi wrote 'Its called rumours', indicating that the news about MS Dhoni's retirement was not true. The wicket-keeper batsman was also not included in the ongoing T20 squad named for the series against South Africa. Many former cricketers have thrown their weight behind Dhoni and have voiced their opinion for MS Dhoni to help in the team's transition and groom young players before he retires, thus helping India prepare for the T20 World Cup next year in Australia and the 2023 World Cup in India.

Virat Kohli says MS Dhoni is valuable to the team

Virat Kohli said that MS Dhoni thought about the game from the team's point of view and not individually. In addition to it, Virat Kohli revealed that MS Dhoni had a huge role to play in the grooming of the youngsters of the team. The Indian skipper said that the experience of the former captain was very essential for the team. 

"His (MS Dhoni) experience will always be important. He thinks for the team. He has groomed so many youngsters. As long as he is available to play he will be very valuable", said Virat Kohli.
