Nathan Lyon keen on playing for Australia in T20 World Cup 2020

Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon is willing to play in the ICC T20 World Cup at home next year despite being not selected for the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka. He has already proved himself in the longest format of the game and has expressed to feature in all three formats. Lyon hasn’t done much in the limited-overs cricket but he is an experienced bowler in the Tests. He has played 29 One Day Internationals, 2 T20s, 71 List A games.

Talking to the Australian press, he stated his urge to play for the Baggy Greens. He assured that whatever format of cricket he plays, he will make sure to do his job. He said that his hand will be always up for the selection and he will be up for every chance he gets. He added that he will have to focus on bowling and fielding perfectly. Also, he assured to improve his batting too. He stated that he is still learning and the game in every area and if given the opportunity to play in the T20 World Cup, it would be a dream.

Confident enough

Lyon further added that he is still trying to get better each and every day. The day he stops trying to get better is probably the day he will give up. And, he believes to conquer every format of the game so he is not limited to the white-ball cricket. The 31-year-old said that he really enjoys T20s and he looks at himself as an attacking spinner anyway. He signed off saying that he is definitely not ruling himself out the 2023 World Cup in India as it always a great wicket to play in India.
