Actress Anushka Sharma courted controversy as she posed with the Indian cricket team during their meeting with the Indian High Commission in London. Team India, who are currently in the middle of their Test series against England, posed with the members of the High Commission a couple of days before their second Test against England at Lord's.
While the photo had the all Indian cricket team players and support staff, as well as the members of the High Commission, there was another individual who hogged the attention. Indian skipper Virat Kohli's wife Anushka Sharam also posed with the lot for a picture.
The netizens were angry and unimpressed with Anushka's presence with the team.
The second Test between England and India will be held at Lord's from August 9 to 13. The venue hasn't been a happy hunting ground for the visitors. If India are to win the second Test, then skipper Virat Kohli will have to do what only two Indians managed before him. India have played 17 matches so far at the legendary stadium, winning two, drawing four and losing 13. But in the past, only Kapil Dev (1986) and MS Dhoni (2014) have guided the team to success at Lord's.
In order for Kohli to become the third Indian skipper to win a Test at Lord's, he must get his team selection right. He and the Indian team management dropped Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara for the first Test, and paid heavy price as his replacement, KL Rahul, and other batters struggled.
