November 6: R Ashwin makes his Test debut

Ravichandran Ashwin made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in 2006 but it was not until the IPL 2010 that he gained popularity. R Ashwin, playing for the Chennai Super Kings, was one of MS Dhoni’s go-to bowlers after he impressed with his accuracy and economical spell. R Ashwin’s performances in the Champions League T20 earned him an India call-up to the limited-overs side and he never looked back.
