India vs Bangladesh 2nd T20I: Rohit Sharma says, 'pressure is on team'

India's stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma, on Wednesday, November 6, a day prior to the second T20I between India and Bangladesh said the pressure to perform is on the team and not on any single individual. Sharma reflected on the loss in the first T20I and said, "We lost as a team and not just as an individual." He also added that the team will look forward to not repeating the same mistakes and also stated that there will be a new approach in the second match.

"All of us need to come together"

In the media briefing on Wednesday, Rohit Sharma said, "Pressure is just on the team to perform, as simple as that. There is no particular department I would say. You have lost as a team, you have not lost as a bowler. What we'll focus on is for the team to perform. Collectively, all of us need to come together. The batsmen need to get the job done and the bowlers need to get those crucial wickets, defend the score or if we are bowling first then to restrict them to a total which we can chase later on. So that will be the idea. We are not focussing on any individual department, we need to focus on everyone as a team because we lost as a team not as individuals."

"I don't think we need to change our batting," says Rohit Sharma

Sharma further added that the pitch in Rajkot looks good and might assist the batsmen. He also assured that there will be a different team approach in the second T20 as compared to the first T20 in Delhi. "I don't think that we need to think about what happened there. Of course, the combination that we played in the last game was based on the pitch that was on offer in Delhi. We will have a look at the pitch again and see what our bowling line up will be. I think our batting line up looks good, I don't think that there is any change that we need to bring in our batting but we'll see. We will analyze the pitch, based on that we will try to do what we can," said skipper Sharma.

Bangladesh beat India in the first T20

In a thrilling last-over match, Captain Mahmudullah finished off in style as Bangladesh beat India in the first T20 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi by 7 wickets. This was also Bangladesh's first victory against the Men in Blue in T20 cricket. The much-speculated match owing to the high pollution levels in Delhi witnessed a low-scoring but a spectacular show from the Bangladesh team as they took the match up till the last over to hand India defeat in the first match of the three-match T20 series.
